Another Place, Another Time

This is the week I'm supposed to be doing reservist. If I weren't in London, I'd probably be at a range now, doing my ROD shoot...

I usually have mixed feelings about going for reservist. It's a real hassle and the training is usually pointless. And I hate gearing up in camouflage green and drinking from water bottles that you can't see the insides of and you know haven't been washed in years. Yes, I've become spoilt like that. But at the same time, I do look forward to spending time with my army buddies. A few days of mindless chats, drinking beer and sneaking out for nights off can be really fun.

This time round, I'm genuinely rather sad to miss reservist. Because its supposed to be a really fun one, to reward us for doing well in the really siong one in 2005. Plus it counts as a high key exercise, even though it's for less than a week. I'd be really pissed if I had to do a long make-up session with a siong unit. But most importantly, I regret not being there because it's going to be one of my unit's last few ICTs (yes, we are that old). And I'll definitely miss my platoon mates after that.

Because Platoon Seven rocks! hahaha...

ps - In trying to guess the identities of the people who post comments on my blog, someone asked me who 'Buddy' is. Buddy is actually my army buddy. In real life, he really does call me 'Buddy' and I call him 'Buddy' too. It happens in my platoon a lot... =)

today: 1 apple, 1 orange, 1 organic banana blueberry & siberian ginseng low fat bio-live yogurt (okay, this isn't a fruit, but it just sounds dem sexy)
