In July, I went to a Robatayaki place for dinner. Food was very good. But the ambience was even better. Setting was like a market and the chefs just sat around and barbequed whatever you chose. It was really festive. Food was very fresh and only needed a sprinkle of salt for flavour. Yums.

Best of all, it was free. Coz it was my birthday treat. Ha.
In August, I went on a firm trip to Bangkok. It was a long anticipated trip mainly coz I had wanted to go shop for household stuff and also to visit a tailor. In the end, the tailor was rather blah but I did have a rather fruitful trip to Chatuchak.

In September, the F1 came to Singapore and, thanks to my very cool friends, I managed to catch the action. The race itself was fantastic. The Renault and Force Asia crashes were right in front of me so it was doubly exciting. But what really struck me, and I know this has been reported by newspapers worldwide, was how beautiful our city is at night. In fact, seeing images our glowing skyline in the background, the packed stands and the shiny F1 cars racing in the foreground, being beamed across the world and hearing foreign newscasters all gush about how amazing it all looked, made me really proud to be Singaporean. Simply fantastic!

Cameraphone photo. Does not do justice to scene.
Well done, Singapore. I think we won big.
